AI Engineering Intern
About
We’re building Jenny, a home assistant. Jenny helps homeowners take a project from first idea to final payment — understanding scope, navigating bids, and keeping everything on track without the chaos that usually comes with it. We’re a small team in San Francisco working on a problem that touches nearly every household.
The Role
We’re looking for an AI Engineering Intern to join us in person at our San Francisco office. You’ll work directly with the engineering team on the systems that power Jenny — building and improving the AI agents, pipelines, and tools that make complex home projects feel manageable for homeowners and contractors alike.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll ship real features, work on production systems, and have direct influence on product decisions. We’re not looking for someone to run experiments in a notebook — we’re looking for someone who wants to build things that people use.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and improve AI agent prompts, tools, and pipelines that power Jenny
- Build features for project estimation, scope clarification, and cost analysis
- Evaluate and benchmark model accuracy against real-world construction data
- Integrate structured data sources (cost databases, regional pricing, permit records) into AI workflows
- Instrument and improve agent reasoning quality through evals and feedback loops
What We’re Looking For
- Strong fundamentals in Python and comfort working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Curiosity about how AI agents reason, fail, and improve — not just how to call an API
- Ability to move fast, ship, and learn from real usage
- Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, or agent frameworks is a plus
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a CS, AI, or related program
Details
- Location: In-person, San Francisco — 1700 Montgomery St
- Duration: Summer 2025 (flexible start and end dates)
- Compensation: Paid
