How does it work for homeowners?
Most homeowners use Jenny in four simple steps:

Capture your space using photos, voice, or (on supported iPhones) a 3D room scan. Jenny helps you see what’s possible in your own home.

Plan with clarity
Jenny helps turn ideas into a clear project scope—materials, priorities, and realistic expectations—before you talk to contractors.

If you choose, Jenny connects you with vetted general contractors and helps you compare bids apples-to-apples.

Who is Jenny?
Jenny is your personal home assistant. She helps you think through decisions, understand tradeoffs, catch risks early, and keep everything organized. She’s designed to feel like a knowledgeable friend who’s seen thousands of renovations—not a chatbot or a contractor.
Do I need an iPhone to use Jenny?
To fully experience Jenny, you need an iPhone 12 Pro or newer, which all come equipped with LIDAR technology to scan your space. 
How much does it cost for homeowners?
Jenny offers a low monthly subscription that gives you access to Jenny’s planning and project management tools. Exact pricing is shared clearly during setup—no hidden fees, and no obligation to hire a contractor. Check out our pricing page
Do I have to hire a contractor through Jenny?
No. You can use Jenny just to plan, understand costs, or stay organized. If you already have a contractor, or plan to find one elsewhere, you can still use Jenny to manage the project.
Can I bring my own contractor?
Absolutely. Many homeowners invite their existing contractor to use Jenny so everyone stays aligned and communication is documented in one place. Simply have them join and then invite them to the project. 
What if I don’t like the bids I receive?
You’re never required to accept a bid. Jenny can help you adjust the scope, clarify priorities, or explore other options so you can make a decision you feel good about.
How does Jenny help prevent budget and timeline surprises?
Most renovation issues come from unclear scope and missed details. Jenny helps by:
  • Clarifying expectations upfront
  • Making bids easier to compare
  • Keeping a written record of decisions and changes

How much does it cost for contractors?
Contractors can create a profile and review opportunities on the platform. To manage a project on the platform, contractors pay a per project fee of $199. 
How do I get matched with projects?
When a new project is posted we match off a number of different criteria to ensure it’s a good fit for both you and the homeowner. We do look to connect contractors to homeowners quickly and we encourage you to follow up quickly when matched. 
Can I use Jenny for existing clients?
Yes. Many contractors use Jenny as a project management tool with current clients to improve communication and documentation.
Do I need to download an app?
Yes. You’ll need to download Jenny and create your profile. 
How does bidding work?
Contractors receive clear project information, including scope, budget and timelines. Once you tell us you’re interested, we help connect you with the homeowner. Only after that do you submit a formal bid. 
What if a homeowner questions my hours or charges?
This is the beauty of Jenny. By using Jenny to manage your projects, a record of updates, decisions, and scope changes is kept. That documentation helps avoid disputes and protects both sides.
Can I communicate directly with homeowners?
Yes. All communication happens directly between you and the homeowner, with Jenny helping keep things organized. We’re not an added layer of work; we streamline to process to keep things running smoothly. 

Technical Questions

How does 3D room scanning work?
On supported iPhones, the app guides you through LiDAR scanning of your room. The scan captures measurements and layout details that help with planning and contractor review.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use best-in-class security practices to protect your information.
Can I use Jenny on my computer?
You can get started on here, but to leverage the full app experience, you’ll need to download Jenny. 
What happens to my project data after completion?
Your project history remains available, creating a useful record of your home for future renovations, resale, or reference.
